In conjunction with current employee benefits consultants, analyzes healthcare benefit programs to identify cost and utilization trends, inform strategic plan design and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance employee owner experience, support well-being and ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Evaluate current plans & carriers, recommending and implementing changes and/or new partners that provide best-in-class experience to Employee Owners and manage expenses.
Evaluate emerging health and wellness innovations, identifying opportunities ESSC and its divisions can utilize to improve and maintain health ownership.
Monitor self-insured plan performance – including stop-loss performance and large-claim activity - identifying claim trends, recommending and supporting implementation of programs to address cost drivers and improve outcomes.
Ensures compliance with various regulatory requirements – including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and other federal/state requirements – managing all required filings and distribution of required notices.
Work with each company subsidiary to implement benefit programs and design wellness initiatives aligned with holding company goals.
Monitors and supports divisions with ongoing operational support – including new hire and life event enrollments, development of benefit communication guides and resources for complex healthcare concepts.
Supports open enrollment activities, including renewals, communications, training, implementation, processing and finalization.
Supports employee-owners across all divisions with benefit-related questions and escalated access of care issues, providing timely and professional support.
Works closely with team on various projects, including acquisitions, leaves of absence, Workday processes and company retirement programs.
Qualifications
Knowledge of labor law and benefits, met by 3-5 years of professional work experience in Human Resources using an HRIS for payroll and HR functions.
PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
Ability to travel to divisions across the US as needed.
Proficient with wide range of software tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google and HRIS platforms such as Workday
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
Strong verbal, math, and written communication skills
Ability to create strong working relationships with internal partners (payroll, finance, HR, division leadership) as well as external partners, collaborating to create best in class practices and offerings.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with diverse settings.
