Your Role: Driving Project Success
As a CDL A Tanker Driver at Emery Sapp & Sons, you play a pivotal role in our operations, responsible for driving tanker vehicles and supporting essential tasks for our construction projects. Safely transporting materials and maintaining equipment, your adherence to regulations and commitment to safety ensures smooth project operations. Your role involves nationwide travel, continuous improvement, and a dedication to providing quality customer service.
Responsibilities:
Driving Tanker: Safely operate tanker vehicles, including manipulating a 3-inch, 60 foot hose, filling the tanker, and handling machinery.
Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operational order of the vehicle. Report maintenance or repair issues promptly.
Maintenance: Maintain equipment in proper operating condition through preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all DOT/FMCSA laws, local, state, and federal permitting requirements. Follow dispatch instructions and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
Documentation: Keep accurate records, including operator logs, time cards, mileage sheets, and vehicle repair records, in accordance with company policy and transportation regulations.
Safety: Attend trainings and safety meetings. Observe construction sites for potential safety hazards and communicate effectively with drivers and personnel to ensure smooth and safe production.
Continuous Improvement: Demonstrate a commitment to improving operations, streamlining work processes, and providing quality customer service.
Nationwide Driving: Be prepared for nationwide travel as required by the workload.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least 2 years of prior driving experience in a commercial or construction setting is preferred.
Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - Class A with valid DOT medical card and Tanker endorsement.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, able to obtain upon hire.
Ability to work extended hours as required by the workload.
Must pass DOT physical exam and controlled substance testing.
All driver positions are contingent on a clean driving record (no DUI's within the past 5 years).
100% travel required, with a focus on dependability.
